Some evidence suggest Binns' regular participation in the 'Paris–Camembert Trophée Lepetit' was not entirely race-focussed. His overnight accommodation was most probably at the abode of a Dominique Renaults, who lived in the northern outskirts of Paris, in a town called Goussainville.
In the autumn of 1972 Renaults relocated from her apartment on Rue Ronsard, with no forwarding address. Binns developed an allergy to Camembert.
